Festive Weekend - Last Minute Gift Ideas

Day of fun!  I decided to take last Friday off from work to get ready for Christmas.  I'm not usually a fan of last minute but it's been so busy lately so I went to Target and bought most of my gifts for the fam, co-workers, gift exchanges, etc.  All I have to say, is thank goodness for Pinterest - I got so many creative gift ideas from there this year!  Here are just a few...

Made this for my mom - she loves tea after dinner!

Added this to the basket below for Ryan's parents

Made this for Ry's parents in NY
"I wish we could be there to make you dinner but this is our little way to treat you to a delish meal!  Enjoy!"

After all the fun holiday shopping was finished, Friday night Ry and I explored DC for the evening!  We enjoyed Grillfish for dinner - I had the Rockfish with sweet onion sauce and Ry enjoyed Swordfish.  We shared the mussels in a creamy wine sauce, which was out-of-this world amazing (Disclaimer: not ToneItUp approved - ooops!).

Then we walked towards the White House, snapped some gorgeous photos -

Made our way to see the National Christmas Tree.  This is a tradition I usually do with my dad on Christmas Eve - we would enjoy dinner at his DC house and then venture off to Macy's for last minute Christmas shopping and then to see the tree.  I wanted to keep this tradition alive.  So in his memory, Ry and I went to see the tree.

National Tree
Maryland Tree
DC Tree
Delaware Tree - for my newly married BFF who now lives in DE!
New York Tree - for Ry and his family!

As you can see, I'm ready for Christmas!  But I'm even more ready for the New Year.  I have always loved New Year's Eve and this year we are celebrating in Ocean City with the entire family - lots to celebrate!  Are you ready for the holiday?  Or better yet, can you believe it's almost 2012!?
