Cape Cod Remodel - Final WEEK!
We're officially in the single digit countdown! It's hard to believe but in just 8 more days we'll be back home!!!
Lots of little things are getting finished up at the house - the stairwell is being installed!
The nursery has been painted! So happy! This is the Benjamin Moore Harbor Gray color - love it!
The cement walkway has been poured and the front portico is complete with the bricks and flagstone...
I still can't believe everything is coming together so well! The last 6+ months have been tiring - picking plumbing fixtures, appliances, paint colors, hardwood floor options, light fixtures, cabinets, granite....but we are so excited to move back in next week!
We can't wait to share the Before-and-After photos with you!

Cape Cod Remodel: GRANITE!
We officially have granite!!
We went with Kashmir White in the Leather finish for our kitchen (because it was on clearance!!). We love the finish and the way it looks in the room. The leather finish definitely makes it feel a little more casual compared to the normal shiny granite. We love it!
Here's our Master Bath vanity...
We went with Luna Pearl color and it actually looks better than we both even envisioned! It looks great with the cabinets and ties the whole room together. PS - I'm SO glad we made the change to two sinks vs. one!
Our builder is absolutely amazing and gave us these adorable little built-ins in the nursery as a baby gift...
We also got the best news this week....we can move back in the house in TWO WEEKS!

Cape Cod Remodel: Kitchen Cabinets!
The kitchen cabinets have been installed!!! YAY!
We went with the Brookhaven line in the Nordic White color. We absolutely love the pantry (first photo above)!! There's still some work to do with the installation and crown molding so can't wait to show you more progress this weekend!

Cape Cod Remodel: Floors, Paint, and Tile!
Things are definitely coming together at the house now!
- The cabinets have been delivered (as of last night)
- Paint colors picked and mostly up on the wall
- Guest bathroom/main level bathroom tile installed
- Kitchen floors sanded and stained
- Kitchen back splash picked
I seriously struggle picking paint colors. I know what I want the room to look like but I can never find the right tones. I asked our builder what the color was on the exterior brick since I loved it so much. We decided to paint the majority of the house the same color - BEHR SCULPTER CLAY!
It looks so great - warm, comfortable, sort of gray/sort of brown, it's just perfect! I think it will go great with the kitchen cabinets and granite. Here's a picture of the Sculpter Clay with our back splash and cabinet sample...
For the kitchen back splash we decided on this glass subway tile in the BEACH color. We tossed and turned about the Beach vs. Platinum color but in the end, we think Beach will just make everything flow better.
Here's our Master Bedroom with the Sculpter Clay paint - it looks great and cozy in the bedroom. It's funny that the kitchen and bedroom get the same western exposure but the paint feels totally different in the two rooms. It definitely feels more gray in the kitchen and more brown in the bedroom, which is perfect!
Here's the view looking in to the kitchen - sanded and stained hardwood floors so they're ready for the cabinet installation today! The wire hanging down will be a speaker - we have 4 speakers in our kitchen to play music and two outside on the deck.
This bathroom below is the main level/guest bathroom. Before, it had vinyl tile that looked pretty horrible. The tile labor was not part of the contract but we had to do something about the vinyl since the rest of the house looks so lovely. I'm LOVING this beautiful tile we picked and think it keeps the character but definitely makes it feel a little more modern. I think it looks great with the white subway tile.
The project is going on almost 6 months and Spring is officially here! We spent both weekend days at the house since we wanted to build a new garden for the backyard. It's not finished yet but here's the work in progress...
We're so anxious to get back to the house this upcoming weekend to see all the progress made this week. The cabinets are getting installed today, granite is being measured tomorrow and will hopefully be installed by the weekend. It's so fun seeing everything you've picked out the last 6 months come together! Just a few more short weeks to go...we'll keep you updated!

Cape Cod Remodel: Drywall Installed and Bathrooms Tiled
We're officially 5 months into this project and things are definitely moving fast! We took a trip to Florida this past week with family and came back to find major progress on the house - drywall installed, brick painted, bathrooms tiled...
Going inside, the drywall is UP!

| New room (Ryan's office) under the sunroom |
The tile has been installed in the kids bathroom and the master bathroom. Here's the nursery/kids bathroom. We used tile from my uncle mixed in with the brown tile we picked out from The Tile Shop.
And here's our master bathroom. We found all the master bathroom tile at The Tile Shop...
We are so pleased with the progress made these past few weeks. Everyone told us once the plumbing, HVAC, and electrical work was complete, the project starts moving quickly. Sure enough, it's true! We have our cabinets scheduled to be delivered the week of April 18th which is also when the granite and appliances will be installed. After that, we should be able to move back home!!
