Best 13.1 mile course!
I have just experienced one of the best races I have ever run. On March 26, 2011 my sister and I ran 13.1 miles in the National Half Marathon. The best part of the race was running through DC--starting at RFK stadium at 7:00 AM, running through SE and NE DC, through Georgetown, Adams Morgan (my personal favorite, but definitely challenging up those hills for about 4 miles), past Howard University, next to the beautiful McMillan Reservoir with views of Children's Hospital, and back to RFK. Just when I felt like giving up, there was inspiration from volunteers and loud motivating music playing from spectators. I had a blast and I also have a new PR (personal record)--9:53 minute mile!
Cannot wait to sign up for the National Half Marathon 2012!
