We stayed at the BEAUTIFUL Harvest Inn located in St. Helena. We absolutely loved the location of the hotel and I must be honest, we splurged staying here since it was our honeymoon. The grounds are absolutely beautiful with views of mountains and vineyards.
Of all three hotels we stayed in for our honeymoon, this was the only one that went out of their way to make us feel special. As we walked in the room, we had a bottle of champagne, two glasses, and a very thoughtful welcome note.
This was our first time to Napa and we really enjoyed the proximity of lots of wineries to the hotel. We honestly walked to most of them, which was perfect!
Wineries we visited -
V. Sattui Winery, St. Helena, CA |
Our first winery was V. Sattui Winery: I think it was a great place to start - pretty low key and there was a festival happening outside while we were there with live music. We ended up coming back here later in the afternoon and enjoyed a bottle of Zinfandel and snacks on their picnic tables.
Next up, which was basically next door to V. Sattui, we checked out Heitz Cellar.
Heitz Cellar, St. Helena, CA |
Heitz Cellar had a bit of a more upscale feel to it. We decided to do a tasting and then head to their back porch area to enjoy a glass of wine. It was such a sweet gesture, when they found out we were honeymooners, they gave us a glass of their $100+/bottle to enjoy out back.
Out back at Heitz Winery |
While we were out back, we met a sweet couple who lived around the Napa area. They shared their bottle with us and we really enjoyed chatting with them. We really enjoyed our time at Heitz and would definitely go back!
Sutter Home Winery was literally next door (probably 20 feet away) from our hotel, so of course we had to check it out...
We enjoyed the tasting but we both agree we don't love the wine. I'm glad we went - it was fun walking around the tasting room - lots of delicious snacks and a great gift area with tons of kitchen supplies.
The next day, we headed to Beringer Winery.
We enjoyed it here! The tasting room was in a dark, indoor area. They had live music outside. We really enjoyed the wines here.
While we were at Beringer, they recommended their sister Winery, St. Clement Vineyards. Since we were somewhat close and it was our last night in Napa, we decided to check it out. And boy are we glad we did....
Absolutely amazing views and such a comfortable environment. We had a seat at this outdoor table and they served the tasting restaurant style. It was so unique and we really enjoyed it here!
Planning Napa at the end of our honeymoon was such a perfect idea and we think back on it often! It was so nice to relax together one last time before we made our way back to reality. Without a doubt, when we close our eyes and think of Napa, we think Heitz Cellars and St. Clement Vineyard!
